New Zealand is Beautiful!

Landed in Auckland. Aerial view was pretty magical, coastal with lots of greenery. Whenever I am landing in a new place, I always king of judge it in comparison to Seattle, which I think is pretty stunning from the air. You can see the city, mixed in with the puget sound, Cascade & Olympic mountains, and a large array of lakes, tough to beat really. New Zealand has now popped into my number 2 spot. Bonus points for an awesomely designed modern airport (check out Jen and I getting our orbs on, in The Ball chair. We're furniture design nerds, so this stuff gets us excited. Nic, you'd love it! - cool mood lighting too.)

NZ is pretty spendy, they wanted $120 NZ bucks for a one color single hit vintage design on a hoody, seriously, it was cool, but it's a freaking sweatshirt with a kiwi on it. I'll just make it when I get home.

Another thing we find exciting about new places, and it's kind of horrible from a health perspective, but we love checking out all the different candy offerings, so many new and awesome varieties of candy bars and gummies and well as new packaging and logos to look at. I was uber tempted to buy about 5 different varieties of the Cadbury bars they had, but I refrained, since I had chowed down on my caramel cream cake(s) for breakfast. In honor of Gram who was a pineapple fan, Jen bought a pineapple lump (unfortunate name, yes). It was pretty much like a Charleston Chew with a pineapple flavored chewy center. To me it tasted a bit boozy, but that's coming from a non-drinker.

Jen and I took a nice photo op of Gram & Paps at the terminal where we discovered this little transport cart, we've decided they must use this for ladies when their Aunt Flo is in town, New Zealanders are so thoughtful!

Enjoy the pics. T
P.S. No humans in the turbines, you have been warned.
